Event in Right-of-Way Permit - City of Kawartha Lakes

An Event in Right-of-Way Permit (Event ROW) is required when an event requires the occupation and disruption of traffic within a road authority’s right-of-way’s, including roads, sidewalks, trails and paths.

Municipal Consent - City of Kawartha Lakes ($500)

The purpose of this application is hereby requesting the consent to perform work within the bounded limits of the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL)right-of-way. By submitting this application the Applicant agrees that all work has been designed in accordance with standard engineering best practices and materials within the Province of Ontario. The applicant also assumes full responsibility that existing utilities/services are not damaged or interrupted, and the safety and protection of public. It is the responsibility of the Applicant that all safety procedures are followed throughout. The CKL assumes no responsibility for injuries, damages, costs, losses or liabilities beyond its control. The Applicant agrees that no changes or deviations from the approved designs will be made except with the consent and approval of the Engineering Department. It is the responsibility of the Applicant to immediately notify the CKL in the event that utilities/services were damaged during excavation. The Applicant agrees to gather the necessary utilities/services locate information by contacting Ontario One Call (ON1Call). It is the responsibility of the Applicant to satisfy themselves as to whether any supplied locate information from the CKL is correct, expected or inconformity with all applicable by-laws and regulations of the municipality. Any supplied locate information from the CKL is given for convenience only and not a precise indicator of privately or publicly owned land, routes, locations or features, nor as a guide to navigate. CKL aims to have MCs approved within 30 days of submission. This deadline cannot always be met depending on request complexity, scope of project and number of submissions received.

Oversize/Overweight Load Annual Permit (OO Annual) - City of Kawartha Lakes ($275.00 /per hauling unit)

An Oversize/Overweight Annual Permit (O/O Annual) allows for the hauling of oversize/overweight loads during the period permitted, as defined by the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), that are within the specified maximum weights and dimensions permitted, and that are also subject to seasonal, fixed and temporary load restrictions.

Oversize/Overweight Load Trip Permit (OO Trip) - City of Kawartha Lakes ($60.00 /per load)

An Oversize/Overweight Load - Trip Permit (OO Trip) is required for the transportation of a load(s) that exceeds the limits prescribed in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), on a specific day(s), on a specific route, that is not already allowed for by a current Oversize/Overweight Load - Annual Permit (OO Annual).

Road Entrance Permit - City of Kawartha Lakes ($250.00)

A Road Entrance permit is required to add or reclassify a permanent or temporary road entrance at a specific location. The project of adding or modifying the road entrance may be subject to a Work in Right-of-Way permit that is associated with the Road Entrance permit.

Work in Right-of-Way Permit - City of Kawartha Lakes

A Work in Right-of-Way Permit relates to any activity that results in traffic disruption, including bins, materials and equipment blocking lanes, or the cutting, excavation, boring, filling, additions, or altering in any way, roadways, curbs, sidewalks, boulevards, ditches, trails, and other areas within the right-of-way. A traffic plan in compliance with the Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM), Book 7, Temporary Conditions for traffic plan instructions, may be required. Application may be made to multiple road authorities with this service (e.g., county road, town sidewalk), by selecting the Multi-Jurisdiction option (coming soon).
