Please read carefully:
An Oversize/Overweight Annual Permit (O/O Annual) allows for the hauling of oversize/overweight loads during the period permitted, as defined by the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), that are within the specified maximum weights and dimensions permitted, and that are also subject to seasonal, fixed and temporary load restrictions.

To use the online portal, all you have to do is create an account and then you can sign into the online portal and start filling out your applications.

Please note that Permits require a minimum of 2 business days for processing.
Approved Annual Oversize/Overweight Load permits do not exempt holders from the requirements of By-law 2022-190 being“A By-law to Regulate and Delegate Authority for Reduced Load Requirements for Highways in The City of Kawartha Lakes”.
Exemptions for all moves within weight restricted roads or periods, require an Oversize/Overweight Load Trip Permit (Single Trip Permit).
Annual Permit Criteria:
Permission will be considered to move Oversize Loads throughout the effective period indicated on the Certificate of Insurance of the Mover on all City roads within the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the City of Kawartha Lakes during the hours/days indicated on the permit application.
Category 1:
- Width of load is greater than 8.7 feet (2.6 metres) and less than 11 feet (3.35 metres).
- Height of load is greater than 13.8 feet (4.15 metres) and less than 14 feet 2 inches (4.26 metres).
- No restriction on time of move
Category 2:
- Width of load is less than 12 feet 2 inches (3.7 metres).
- Height of load is greater than 14 feet 2 inches (4.26 metres).
- Daylight hours only. Not permitted on weekends or statutory holidays.
If the dimensions of the load you are moving exceed Category 1 and 2 you will require a Single Move Permit.

Oversize/Overweight Load Annual Permit (OO Annual) - City of Kawartha Lakes Details
Pick one of the annual load permit types from the list.
Enter the number of hauling units to be permitted. Check road authority conditions to determine if this is for the number of specific hauling units used, or the maximum number of hauling units that will be hauling oversize overweight loads at one time. You will receive numbered certificates, e.g., -1, -2, -3
If required, enter the license plate numbers for the hauling unit(s) to be used with this permit, in the order of the certificates to be issued, e.g., -01 goes with the first plate number. Include the name on door of the hauling units. Some road authorities require further details or cab cards uploaded below.
If required, enter license plate numbers for any trailers that may be associated with this permit.
Some road authorities require MTO and MOE certificates be uploaded.
